Position Overview:
Navistar has a great opportunity for a Director of Field Service for the US & Canadian region.

The Director of Field Service is responsible for leading our Customer, Dealer & Partner support from a service perspective, this includes: preparing our network to support current and future products, product issue management, goodwill administration, and advocating on behalf of our customers within Navistar to assure maximum value creation occurs.

We are looking for a dynamic leader that can help navigate the transition to schedule and proactive maintenance while supporting new products like zero emissions. The individual will manage a large and distributed team including managing managers.

This role will report to the Vice President of Service & Warranty and be based in Lisle, IL.
Responsibilities:
  • Create & execute a strategy that supports current & future products including Zero Emission, Autonomous, etc.
  • Prepare Dealers & Customers to successfully maintain & service all current & new products
  • Support the adoption of our new digital service experience and the processes/tools that are included
  • Enable an expedited issue identification & resolution process for all our products and services
  • Manage a large team distributed geographically across US & Canada
  • Manage our Customer Goodwill Forecasts, Budgets & Administration
  • Support all our Go To Market Activities including our Dealer & Customer Committees, Events, etc.
  • Collaborate with Component Suppliers, Network Partners, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 14 years of Dealer Support, Service Operations, or Field Service Engineering experience
  • At least 6 years of management experience

  • Master's degree
  • At least 12 years of Dealer Support, Service Operations, or Field Service Engineering experience
  • At least 6 years of management experience
OR
  • At least 16 years of Dealer Support, Service Operations, or Field Service Engineering experience
  • At least 6 years of management experience
Additional Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

  • Fleet Maintenance Operations Experience
  • Fixed Operations Experience
  • High level of customer focus and responsiveness
  • Highly collaborative, able to work in a matrixed environment and with senior leaders
  • Self-motivated and strategic with the ability to take initiative and drive consensus when needed
  • Strong administrative and management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects, programs and objective
  • Good understanding of the Navistar Products and Applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; strong presentation skills
