WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The selected candidate will support design development starting from concept phase until design release, through FEA simulations, ensuring durability and structural functionality of components and / or systems and providing technical solution based on analysis results for developing an optimal design.

The FEA-Virtual Analysis Specialist is responsible for performing simulations to validate components and / or systems using FEA tools. The candidate will be requested to perform following analysis type:

1) Static FE analysis, linear and not linear

2) Random vibration analysis

3) Weld fatigue analysis (spot weld, seam weld)

4) Parent material strength and durability analysis

5) Durability analysis, using specific fatigue codes (LMS Durability/NCode)

Share and organize materials input data for virtual validation (Strong Materials engineering background). Develop a basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and soil interaction

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

FEA-Virtual Analysis

• Support during concept phase and final virtual validations of mechanical components and/or systems for CE machinery vehicles.
• Perform structural (linear, non-linear, dynamic) calculations using FEA tools or calculation spreadsheet.
• Prepare the FE models in according to DA&S simulation procedures.
• Determine structural loads to be used for the FEA validation, by specific analysis tool or by hand calculation.
• Provide design proposals to Engineering team to improve or optimize the structural behavior of components/systems
• Simulation tasks management through Integrated Validation Plan and CTS system.
• Analyze duty cycle signals in order to estimate component/machine life

MATERIAL DATABASE FOR SIMULATION

Material Database Follow up, maintenance and definition of new contents:

• Data Collection (Material properties, curves, specific data format for Virtual validation)
• Identification of new potential improvements among new disciplines based on Design Analysis & Simulation and PE teams requests
• Set up of surveys for Matereality users to fill potential gap and propose new improvements
• Provide support to increase integration between DAS/ME/PE teams:

• Follow up the Matereality CAD Creo Integration program supporting ICT, ME and supplier in the definition and the development of the program specifications

• Basic Vehicle Dynamics and Soil Interaction knowledge

YOUR KEY COMPETENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor or master’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, or equivalent
• 1-2 years of professional industry experience in machinery industry, automotive or aerospace
• Knowledge of structural analysis and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of fatigue principles in parent material and welds
• Knowledge of, Optistruct, Abaqus, or other similar commercial FEA solvers (preferred)
• Knowledge of Ncode would be an advantage
• Knowledge of surface and volume mesh preparation using Hypermesh would be an advantage
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a global team
• Excellent knowledge of English (both verbal and written).
• Availability to Domestic and International travel.
• Material characterization expert.
• Knowledge of Product Development
