POSITION SUMMARY
The Cashier must be willing to work in various outlets as needed. The Cashier will be responsible to deliver exceptional customer service and create a warm and friendly atmosphere for our guests to enjoy. The Cashier must work well with all fellow Team Members in producing a smooth and efficiently running operation that meets our high standards. Keeps a well-kept and clean work environment for guest to enjoy, answers questions and responds to guest’s requests. We are looking for Team Members who want to work with the public and help us continue to grow our business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to all guests.
  • Promptly address guests concerns or issues and escalate guests to management when necessary.
  • Operate a POS system, ringing in proper amount into the register and giving the guest the correct change
  • Responsible for initial cordial reception to the guests in each outlet.
  • Accounts for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established procedure.
  • Assists in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation in all outlets.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all outlets.
  • Maintains current and accurate information regarding menu items (i.e. menu, specials, and beverage lists).
  • Knows and promotes current casino events and restaurant specials and can give guests directions to all casino area(s).
  • To ensure proper set-up and maintenance of service station, tables, and common areas though-out all dining rooms.
  • Always follows the correct sequence of service.
  • Clears, cleans, resets, and maintains station during shift.
  • Assists other servers in giving the best possible service. Cooperates and communicates with all fellow Team Members, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.
  • Performs opening and closing duties as per policies & procedures.
  • Thanks the guests and invites them back and wishes them luck.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous cashier experience is preferred, but will train the right person.
  • Basic math skills (i.e. add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • Experience in a courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a cash register, handle simple calculations, and money transactions via a computer point of sale (POS) system, previous experience is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, an enthusiasm for selling, and enjoyment for working with customers in a restaurant and retail settings.
  • Must have an outgoing personality and be a quick leaner to be able to assist the public with merchandise and answer questions about the Wanaaha Casino.

OTHER REQUIEMENTS
  • Food Handler’s Card is mandatory within first 30 days of employment.
  • Must pass Title 31 within first 30 days of employment.
  • A TB test will be required prior to employment.
  • Able to manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Able to hear and speak effectively in a noisy environment.
  • An excellent appearance is required and must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly and courteous.
  • Must possess ability to interact with the public and fellow Team Members, demonstrating respect, and tact, courtesy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Must be able to work various schedules, on an as-needed basis; as work schedules could vary and will involve day, evening, or nighttime hours during the week and/or on weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to attend additional training is required.
  • Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Paiute Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving whole body.
  • Bending and stooping.
  • Standing and walking for duration of shift.
  • Repetitive lifting, carrying of service tray.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Cashier work in or near a commercial kitchen and busy, fast-paced dining room. Noise levels are moderate to loud. Climate is subject to change from hot to cold.
