The Executive Chef is accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations. Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions.

This position is responsible for all aspects of the culinary operation. The Chef will assume responsibility for the restaurant's food quality, presentation, adherence to standard operating procedures, staff supervision, staff development, creativity of daily features and cost management within the operation.

Executive Chef Responsibilities

  • Supervises food preparation, cost quality, quantity inventories, portion control menu planning, recipes and testing, and assist in planning monthly kitchen budget.
  • Develops standard recipes for all dishes to ensure proper portion control, uniformity of taste and quality; test new products on the market, recipes and formulas.
  • Menu Specials creation with standardized recipes.
  • Scheduling and monitoring of kitchen staff.
  • Hiring, training and development of culinary and general kitchen staff.
  • Maintaining kitchen safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ordering, and inventory control of food products.
  • Oversees job methods and cooking standards to maintain a high quality of food and service.
  • Ensuring promptness, freshness and quality of meals prepared on a daily basis.
  • Review staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives.
  • Perform administrative duties.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Leading by example and monitoring performance standards for staff.
  • Obtaining feedback on quality of food and improving recipes when needed.

Executive Chef Requirements

  • Qualification from a culinary school.
  • 7+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements
  • Knowledge of building and managing budgets
  • Knowledge of SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Coaching and developing experience
  • Ability to manage more than 50 employees
  • Prior Country Club or Hotel experience preferred
  • High Volume cooking experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices.
  • Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts new clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to convey information, work within strict deadlines, multi-task, and react quickly and effectively to challenges.
  • Ability to lead a team of employees utilizing proven organizational and communication skills.
  • Possess a valid or be willing to obtain a ServSafe certification.
  • Keep up with cooking trends and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
