The Boeing Company is looking for an Entry Level Information Technology Design and Integration Specialist to join our team in Aurora, Colorado.

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division, is seeking a System Design & Integration Specialist (Level 1) to support Information Systems performing daily operations at a spacecraft ground station in Aurora, CO. The Northern Lights Ground Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of maintaining 24x7 operational systems. Our group works all facets of spacecraft operations from ground system obsolescence, upgrades and maintenance supporting spacecraft control, spacecraft system engineering, mission planning, and vehicle engineering.

The Information Technology Design and Integration Specialist will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in highly complex operational systems. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with software developers, external engineering groups, and our customer to resolve anomalies, integrate new or upgraded systems, and strive for 100% mission success. This role will include a comprehensive On-The-Job training program, where you will learn about our ground software systems and support of spacecraft operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of ground system maintenance including daily hardware system checks, defining new hardware requirements for program obsolescence, procure and install new hardware systems, and provide user support for system issues.

  • Upgrade operating system versions as required to meet security requirements include system build-up, test and hardening for Linux, Windows, Open Virtual Memory System (OpenVMS) and Solaris systems.

  • This also includes ensuring the integrity of the ground system and operational software to maintain command and control.

  • Coordinate with external groups on current and future ground system testing and integration.

  • Create and collaborate on process improvements that aim to increase operational efficiency, for example, by developing new software tools, creating new operational procedures and increasing system automation.

  • Provides assistance to identify, evaluate and document basic computing system requirements. Assists in the design, build and test of basic delivery systems and components.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance and an adjudicated Counter-Intelligence (CI) polygraph, or the ability to obtain clearance and polygraph pre-start (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education/experience

  • Willing to support a 24/7 on-call environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience working with both Windows and Linux operating systems .

  • Experience performing systems administration tasks to include installation and configuration of servers

  • Experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems


Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guide only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $65,450 - $88,550.
