The Assembly Technician at AD Systems is responsible for assembling and preparing products for shipment to the customer. This role primarily works with machines and hand tools to assemble aluminum and wood door components. The role may include support of material handling, quality control, material packaging, shipping, and receiving. Assembly Technicians may operate machinery, such as forklifts, nail guns, hand drills, and more.

What You Will Do:

  • Understand and interpret product nomenclature, including working from drawings, pick lists, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare and fulfill orders as according to the order specification.
  • Operate hand tools, such as grinders, saws, drills, pneumatic nail guns, sanders, and more.
  • Perform finishing responsibilities for the product, including paint spraying and quality checks using calipers, tape measures, and levels.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness safety in the work area.
  • Prioritize and handle materials to ensure on-time-delivery to the customer per requirements.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, mechanical assembly experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail in following the product specifications.
  • Experience operating forklifts/forklift certification preferred.
  • Strong mechanical attitude and alertness in a high-risk environment.
  • Strong English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Computer skills, including basic ability to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours or the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to drive 20-foot flatbed truck for local deliveries is preferred.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in an environment where heavy work is required and where moderate to loud noise occurs. The employee is in an assembly plant/warehouse environment that can be dusty. May be working around welding operations. Overhead work may be required. There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, lift and move heavy objects (up to 70 pounds) and occasionally lift and move very heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. Production aids such as tilting assembly tables, overhead cranes and forklifts can be used for these tasks. Personal protective equipment will be required and provided. In addition, the individual in this job will be working under time pressure and must be able to perform under stress. They must be able to work rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others. They also must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks, read and comprehend the material they read. The employee must be able to write, and problem solve. 40+ hours per week will typically be necessary to accomplish performance objectives and to provide satisfactory job presence and/or responsiveness

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experiences.

  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $17.10 - $26.73. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Employment Type: Full-time, hourly non-exempt

Work Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday – Friday; 40 hours per week required, with opportunity for overtime.
