Lehman College is seeking an Enrollment Registrar Specialist. Reporting to the Associate Director of Registrar, the Enrollment Registrar Specialist, in addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • In collaboration with department chairs and program coordinators, the Enrollment Registrar Specialist will be responsible for the academic advisement of seniors who have met 85% of their degree requirement and are missing 20 credits or less.
  • The Enrollment Registrar Specialist will utilize EAB to set up advising sessions with students as well as manage and send notifications to their student cohorts.
  • On a semester basis, assist the department with advising sessions, the Enrollment Registrar Specialist provide lists to chairs and department advisors of seniors (90+ credits) who are missing major requirements.
  • Every term and session, this role will audit students records who applied for graduation and code them as approved in CUNYfirst. The graduation tracking status allows for transparency throughout the process.
  • After the conferral of students records, the Enrollment Registrar Specialist assign Latin Honors to qualifying candidates in CUNYfirst as well as add the appropriate transcript comments such as Social Work licensure or ADP.
  • Process diplomas (digital and paper) for all graduating classes and process grade changes on students’ records in CUNYfirst.
  • Correct discrepancies in students current declared major/minors in CUNYfirst
  • Identify and address CUNYfirst record inaccuracies (CUNY F-Policy, Transfer Credit Errors, Student Group upkeep)
  • Assign a CUNYfirst appointment for Students that were cancelled for graduation to enroll the following term/session.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

Vaccine Requirement

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Administers College registration operations under management direction.

  • Coordinates registration services such as grade collection entries and changes, publication of semester course offerings, final examination schedules, classroom scheduling and requests for student information
  • Promotes policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations; advises College personnel regarding the development and implementation of responses to regulatory changes
  • Oversees the conformity of record release procedures to management policies and legal requirements, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable laws and regulations governing the confidentiality of student records
  • Creates and reviews student communications from the Registrar's Office; ensures transcript and Degree verification requests are handled in a timely manner
  • Recommends and implements improvements to office operations; assists with strategic planning
  • Prepares reports and analyses on registration activities
  • May train faculty and staff on retention techniques, record-keeping protocol and/or registration systems
  • May supervise office operations and/or department budget
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience, $64,649- $68,004.

Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.

If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.

Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
