What’s the job?

The primary function of the Engineering Manager is to provide the key leadership of engineering activities at the Peachtree City, GA roofing facility to support a continuous improvement methodology in regards to Environmental Health & Safety, Quality and Productivity.

  • Confer with top management and other plant departments to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  • Develops effective teamwork and utilizes innovation to achieve department goals.
  • Analyze technology, resource needs, risk and associated costs to assess the feasibility of projects.
  • Direct, review and approve technical designs and changes.
  • Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts related to Engineering and improvement projects.
  • Consult or negotiate with corporate engineering or outside vendors to prepare project specifications.
  • Key manager and coordinator of the fixed assets at the Peachtree City roofing facility.
  • Provides general leadership and development of others.
  • Coordinates and directs projects making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Perform administrative functions such as: reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules and making decisions regarding the purchase of equipment, materials or services.
  • Perform root-cause analysis as well as implement sustainable countermeasures on losses related to electrical failures.
  • Provide technical assistance to the production and maintenance departments.
  • Provide key leadership to CertainTeed’s world class manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.
  • Conduct behavior based audits and 5S audits as well as support plants EHS goals.
  • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

What do you bring?

  • Minimum of 4-year degree (Engineering Preferred) PE a plus.
  • 5 plus years of experience in a Management role
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in use of MS Office
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws (OSHA)
  • General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Auto-Cad and/or SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with 5S & Continuous Improvement Methodology

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
