SUMMARY: As an Electronic Security Systems Engineer you will be skilled in designing and deploying technology to improve our customers' physical security posture. You should understand how to protect people and facilities by deploying tried and true as well as cutting edge technology. You should be able to understand a customer’s needs and translate that into a system design that can be deployed at scale around the globe quickly and thoroughly. Be an expert in one or more technology sets in Physical Security: Access Control, Intrusion Detection, CCTV, Perimeter Detection Systems, Weapons Detection Systems and more. You will work with a team of Security Engineers to share your knowledge and gain an even deeper understanding of how large enterprises are secured.

- Develop drawings, schematics, equipment lists, test plans and procedures, assembly procedures, and installation instructions for electronic security systems
- System administration experience to perform triage on system problems, resolve the system problems, analyze system data to prevent problems, and implement new workstations and system extensions
- Assist in the design and maintenance of electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems
- Identify and select components based on technical requirements and characteristics
- Perform engineering calculations and modeling
- Supervise the installation and testing of equipment and systems
- Supervise the installation of systems in mobile platforms and fixed facilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree
- Must have 1-5 years of security systems experience
- Must understand the IT environments and how to operate in and know how to communicate with network security teams to securely deploy solutions
- Must have hands-on experience designing and deploying Physical Security Systems
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have familiarity with physical security designs, standard operating procedures, and security operations
- Familiarity with military operations a plus
- Must be able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
- Must be able to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Must be able to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person
- Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
- Proficient using Autodesk products to produce detailed design drawings necessary
- Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance
- Working knowledge of DOORs and or Magic Cameo Digital Design tools
- Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as HIRSCH Identiv, Lenel, FLIR, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis. (Must be able to understand how these systems operate and know their limitations)
- Working knowledge and/or certification with communications and network protocols and services including TCP/IP, RS232, RS485, network-based video distribution (Multicast L2/L3). Corresponding vendor certifications include Associate, Professional, or Expert level certifications from Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, etc.
- Experience deploying ESS or IOT devices on secure network environments is a plus
- Working knowledge and/or certification with operating systems commonly used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems. Corresponding vendor certifications include Associate and Professional certifications from Microsoft, VMWare, and Unix (multiple versions)
- Programming and scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, etc.), experience with systems integration tools and protocols (APIs, SOAP and REST, XML/JSON), database design and query development
- Must be willing to work outdoors and indoors
- Exposure to computer screens for an extended period
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction
- Have finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard
- Ability to work in extreme work environments, such as heat, cold, heights, confined spaces, excessive noise, etc.
- Be physically cable of performing the physical requirements of the position daily. Able to work a non-traditional work week, to include evenings, weekends and/or Holidays as work demands dictate and/or directed by the Supervisor
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
