LOCATION: Corporate Office

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for working diligently to design, develop, evaluate, and oversee the implementation and continued support of electronic health care records.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Chief Clinical Officer

JOB DUTIES: Electronic medical records (EMR) systems allow employees of hospitals and other health care facilities to store, access and update patient’s health records electronically. They can also facilitate the exchange of information among medical organizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates the training, implementation, and support for all facets of the electronic medical records and enterprise practice management systems.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the software are implemented according to applicable schedules and that all personnel are effectively utilizing EHR and related applications.
  • Concentrate on EMR workflows, EMR support and training of staff and providers
  • Electronic medical records analysts establish EMR systems and work to continually improve them through upgrades, expansion, and other ongoing development.
  • Work alongside software developers and may serve as liaison between these developers and users of EMR systems.
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases.
  • Develop effective management strategies and creating better electronic medical records systems. To achieve these ends, specialist create test scenarios for EMR systems, execute these tests and evaluate the results.
  • Develop policies and procedures for EMR system users, as well as providing training and producing technical literature.
  • Ensure that employees comply with organizational or legal standards.
  • Responsible for projects management
  • Analyze data within the EMR to assist staff and providers in UDS, HEDIS, PCMH, and other compliance programs and standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners and team members.
  • Identify issues and escalate / manage resolution, as required.
  • Provide QI support in assigned tasks.

Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes:

  • Experience working with eClinicalWorks.
  • Serves as a team leader or coordinator when needed.
  • Understand the implementation and maintenance process of EMR systems.
  • Technical expertise in subject matter areas demonstrated by documented experience in analysis, process design and workflow, research, installation/implementation, and support of EMR systems.
  • Work effectively with individuals and follow oral and written directions.
  • Communicate effectively and tactfully with residents, customers, managers and other levels of personnel, in-person and by telephone.
  • Organize and schedule work effectively.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient and company information.
  • Must present pleasant, professional, and effective representation of the corporation.
  • Ability to speak publicly.
  • Possess mature judgement, tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to effective present information and respond to questions from manager, providers, staff, clients, customers, and general public.
  • Ability to independently prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and/or priorities.
  • Ability to read and understand reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Possess strong technology skills (email, navigating internet, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Possess strong administrative skills.
  • Ability to be highly organized.
  • Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California Class C Driver’s license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to various job locations, as required (OC, LA, Riverside, San Bernardino Counties).

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in health information management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (not required)
  • Experience in a healthcare-related information technology setting with knowledge and experience performing information systems analysis and design for Health Care related systems at a public or private healthcare organization.
