Senior Electrical Engineer

Pay Rate for LESS than 5 years exp: $48/hr
OR
Pay Rate for MORE than 5 years exp: $50/hr

Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: 12 month Contract to hire (based on performance)
Estimated hours per week: 40 hours
Work Schedule: Mon-Friday; 8 am to 5 pm

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for applying engineering principles
independently to all aspects of specification, design, programming, installation, startup, and troubleshooting of industrial power distribution systems. The candidate preferably has experience in manufacture or use of ultrahigh purity materials supplied to the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Drives a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with their actions and their words on a daily basis
● Capable of developing, implementing and supporting plant electrical distribution
hardware in an efficient and safe manner.
● Effective at troubleshooting industrial electrical distribution systems and implementing corrective actions independently.
● Actively participates in Design Reviews and PHAs as a team member or leader
● Power monitoring system configuration and programming
● Working with highly hazardous chemicals at a manufacturing facility
● Responsible for establishing engineering design basis, and assisting with design
documentation (Single line drawings, panel schedules, load list etc.) for both new and
existing facilities while following electrical code, best practice and department standards
● Capable of assisting with contractor supervision and electrical installation inspection and tests.
● Provide electrical engineering support for capital projects, define project scopes, develop cost estimates, organize third party services
● Responsible for capturing any field changes on issued documents on as-builts.
● Successfully completes all assigned trainings and tasks
● Understanding of electrical distribution and power loading in industrial control systems

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree electrical engineering, or equivalent
● 10+years of relevant experience, including Single line drawings, panel schedules, load
list issued for bid and issued for construction documentation packages.
● Knowledge of OEM equipment manufacturers: Eaton, ABB, GE, SIEMENS
● Knowledge and experience of NFPA-70E and arc-flash study software
● Skilled at performing short circuit, load flow, harmonic studies, arc-flash and coordination
studies (SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower)
● Understanding of NFPA-110, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power
● Candidate should have knowledge of applicable codes and standards for industrial
power distribution (UL listing, NEC, NFPA, etc.) as applied to hazardous classified areas
● 15%~20% domestic and international travel for commissioning and support
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience in a rapid-growth environment
● Trained in standard procedures for safe gas and chemical handling
● Chemical plant operation experience strongly preferred
● Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multitask
● Team player with leadership abilities.
● Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and continuously changing
priorities
● Problem solving and decision making skills
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
