Early Learning Assistant Teacher (Varied shifts)

This posting is for full and part-time salaried Assistant Teachers. Part time options may include regularly scheduled early shifts, late shifts and/or partial week assignments. The starting salary for a full time salaried position is $40,000-43,750. Part time shifts will have prorated salaries. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours employees will work, scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a safe and nurturing environment where children can play, learn and take risks 
  • In partnership with Early Learning Center Directors and peers, co-create a collaborative, dynamic, positive, and innovative classroom culture.   
  • Work in partnership with JCC leadership and other departments to support JCC Greater Boston organizational goals and model JCC values 
  • Partner and communicate with families with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for the children 
  • Assist with curriculum design and implementation 
  • Adhere to all EEC regulations as well as NAEYC guidelines  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A love of children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  • Strong organizational skills including teamwork, relationship building skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to manage situations effectively and diplomatically
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with families, co-workers, ELC leadership, and JCCGB colleagues
  • Commitment to create and foster a dynamic environment where play and learning are a top priority
  • Computer literate

  • Once a new educator has joined our team and community for 6 months, he/she/they will be eligible for the Signing Bonus of $1,000. $500 at 6 months and $500 at a year.
  • Competitive salary (This full time position will pay in the range of $40,000-43,750 as a starting salary. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours employees will work, scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.) 
  • Tuition reimbursement for coursework supporting EEC certification ($1000-2000 per school cycle depending on hours worked) 
  • Support of a child development specialist

JCC Greater Boston is a nonprofit organization with roots in earlier Settlement Houses and Young Men’s Hebrew Associations; JCC Greater Boston today offers a wide range of services and program activities throughout the Greater Boston region (~50,000 individuals annually in 98 communities). The organization provides a variety of programs and services to children and adults in the Greater Boston Jewish community including: four Toddlers, three day camps, a regional model of Jewish family engagement, a fully equipped fitness and aquatic center, arts and culture classes, performances, lectures, and Jewish holiday celebrations.
