Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Administrative Operations, is responsible for the processing and completion of physician orders. Responsibilities also include data entry and preparation of documentation in support of record keeping activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Following are the essential functions of the job.

  • Use this to denote if a function does not provide opportunity to perform beyond "Meets Expectations"
1. 1. Responsible for the processing of verbal orders
a. Able to print doctor's orders from the electronic system

b. Sends orders to the doctors via appropriate method

c. Receives signed orders and tracks into electronic system

2. Matches signed returned orders with orders sent
a. Receives signed orders and tracks into electronic system

b. Ensures that orders are signed correctly

3. Follows up on outstanding orders
a. Able to print reports to identify outstanding orders

b. Follows up on all outstanding orders to ensure that orders are signed

c. Reports delinquent orders to director

4. Prepares documents for filing
a. Sorts and alphabetizes documents

b. Assists with filing as needed

5. Able to print and utilize reports from electronic record as necessary for performance of job duties
6. Promotes excellence in customer service
a. Develops strong working relationships with staff in physician offices

b. Follows up on all requests in a timely manner

7. Demonstrates correct protocols for faxing and copying of patient information

8. Data entry of paper documentation as needed for completion of patient records

9. Maintains confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA guidelines
