The Manager of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) is responsible for managing the goals and strategies of the diversity and inclusion program. Through community engagement, management of outreach initiatives, and provision of educational opportunities, the DEI Manager enhances the diversity of staff and volunteers; increases access to Agrace hospice and palliative care services for diverse and underserved communities throughout Agrace’s service area; and fosters an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:
The DEI Manager is responsible for managing the goals and strategies of the diversity and inclusion program, and will be responsible for the following:

Diversity Goals & Strategies
  • Develop, implement and provide ongoing management of diversity strategy and action plan
  • Engage with leadership and Boards of Directors in the establishment and application of organizational diversity goals, objectives and strategies.
  • Provide leadership and consultation to ensure that diversity objectives are observed and met by all parts of the organization and embedded into the business planning process and culture of Agrace.
Outreach Programs for Diverse and Underserved communities
  • Build relationships with key community-based leaders and groups to assess cultural needs, increase community’s knowledge and usage of Agrace, and partner on community health initiatives.
  • Develop and utilize metrics for measuring the effectiveness of the outreach diversity initiatives.
  • Manage the reporting and performance monitoring against targets and plans.
  • Represent Agrace and serve as subject matter expert on diversity-related issues at conferences, professional associations and business meetings.
  • Coordinate event details for diversity functions.
Policy and Program Development for a Diverse Workforce
  • Teach cultural competency and related concepts to employees and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources / Professional Development Team to contribute to the development and delivery of diversity training.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop and monitor diversity policies and procedures.
  • Remain current on diversity best practices by maintaining contact with others in the field.
Manage Staff
  • Hire, train, engage and retain department staff.
  • Assign, direct and verify the work of direct reports.
  • Assess staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, correction and development opportunities.
Other Duties
  • Participate in internal work groups, meetings and committees relative to position responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with Agrace policies and protocols, state, federal, and other regulations.
  • Develop and adhere to annual department operating budget.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of experience managing diversity initiatives.
