Primary Responsibilities: As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for routing all the assigned deliveries in the division daily. You will manage delivery routes, maintain reports and documentations, and ensure a seamless process from our warehouse to our customers. A successful candidate will have effectively demonstrated an ability to continuously build better service and contribute to our delivery process.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Scheduling/Dispatching shuttle drivers, and route drivers. Lot jockey.
• Responsible for all Fleet Maintenance tracking activities.
• Communicate regularly with lead mechanic and driver supervisor on fleet maintenance activities.
• Interact with drivers on a regular basis to ensure DOT compliance and company policy.
• Handle incoming calls from shuttle drivers and provide guidance.
• React quickly and effectively to breakdowns ensuring shuttle loads arrive timely.
• Effectively communicate issues and opportunities as they arise to the Driver Supervisor.
• Plan and delegate work in a safe, responsible manner and in compliance with all state laws and transportation regulations.
• Provide updates throughout the night on any shuttle delays into depot locations.
• Schedule backhauls to minimize additional mileage and increase equipment utilization.
• Working with the warehouse & dock workers to, Audit load quality and ensure loads are driver friendly.
• Monitors and maintains driver daily log files.
• Monitors and maintains drivers’ status and update files accordingly.
• Updates and performs data entry into department and company database.
• Reviews, researches, and resolves discrepancies on weekly reports.
• Responsible for sending out all deliveries needed by customers daily.
• Communicates with customers, vendors, and company personnel in a positive and proactive manner.
• Schedules and assigns drivers and helpers to loads.
• Issues equipment to drivers.
• Reports all accidents.
• Has knowledge of warehouse distribution.
• Understands DOT regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1+ years foodservice distribution industry experience.
• Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Valid Class A CDL .
• Must be willing to obtain Doubles Endorsement.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Previous experience in Transportation related or Dispatcher Role.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Computer Applications.
• Customer service-related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet)
• Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e., POD)
