POSITION SCOPE
The Director of Warehouse and Distribution at Country Malt Group (CMG) is responsible for all DC operations in North America, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations of all 12 locations. This strategic position is part of the Supply Chain Organization which reports into the President of our Global Distribution company. As the Director of this critical business function, you will establish and maintain an operations rhythm through safety metrics, continuous improvement, budget attainment, and talent development that are aligned with CMG’s core values. In this role, you will also be responsible for Capital Expenditure projects, quality/efficiency initiatives, inventory management, and service/product expansions.

Your expertise in warehouse management and network optimization will be crucial to continuing to drive our high level of customer service and overall customer satisfaction while adhering to OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration), DOT HAZMAT (Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials), and HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points) regulations. This role must have excellent cross functional steer and change management competencies

RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Supervise the functions of the distribution center’s operations teams to ensure goals are met while adhering to company standards
  • Drives a high performing team by developing talent and driving strong management and culture
  • Partner with CMG steer team to drive supply chain strategy to assist CMG vision and mission
  • Develop warehouse metrics, KPI’s (key performance indicator), and scorecards to drive proactive operational excellence within each DC (Distribution Center)
  • Problem solve to quickly address barriers to results, identify alternatives and use sound data oriented business judgment in making conclusions
  • Continually focuses on improvement through process, metrics, and technology
  • Backs the successful implementation, optimization, and maintenance of TMS (Transportation Management System)/ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) to hold up end to end business processes and efficiencies
  • Drive capital expenditure process
  • Assist is resolution of escalated customer complaints (NCR non-conformance reports) related to warehouse operations
  • Develop, establish, and maintain strong relationships with peers as well as corporate steer team

  • Proven skill that has a track record of driving successful change management and strong cooperative culture
  • Proven history of strong warehousing and distribution operational excellence
  • Excellent communication, management, coaching and organization skills
  • Proficient in ERP - enterprise resource planning, TMS - transportation management systems, WMS – warehouse management systems
  • Investigative thinker with ability to utilize appropriate data and information for making informed outcomes
  • Strong social skills and adept at collaborating with key business stakeholders
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience creating and executing short-term tactical plans as well as long-term strategic plans
  • Ability to problem solve and apply independent judgment.
  • Maintains a positive, professional demeanor in all interactions with colleagues, external providers, and customers
  • Travel may be required (up to 25%)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field an asset
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing and supply chain
  • Proven people manager ability
  • Global Logistics/Distribution experience is a plus
  • Expertise with Warehouse Management Systems
  • Proficient with MS Office tools including Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams and Outlook

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Standard working hours with the ability to be flexible given time zone differences.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Personal protective equipment is required of all employees when on manufacturing and distribution sites.
  • Must be able to work in an open office environment with cubicle seating.
  • Must be able to work in the office, attend meetings and interact with others onsite.
  • Required compliance with all company policies, procedures, regulations, and other standards that encourage a safe workplace.
