The Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) Data & Analytics team functions to provide full stack analytics from data collection, processing, storage, querying, and visualization to advanced analytics and business insights.

The Director of Analytics is responsible for organizing, managing and ensuring the timely production and delivery of analytic outputs required to support the JHH Care Coordination/Clinical Resource Management and Quality departments. This includes designing and overseeing the maintenance of data systems that support departmental and hospital clinical data management activities, providing strategic direction on the creation of tools to foster decision-making related to programmatic, clinical and financial goals, and responding to time-sensitive analytic requests from departmental and hospital leadership.

This role will be responsible for leading a team of business intelligence developers and analysts to build and maintain the clinical outcomes, quality and operational data infrastructure at JHH. Additionally, this role will be responsible for establishing standards and best practices for administering, building, deploying, and monitoring data applications at JHH.

Education

A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Analytics, or related field is required. A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Predictive Analytics or related field is preferred.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in data management, with at least 5 years’ experience directly in clinical health care data management.

Working Knowledge:

• Requires understanding of relational database systems and ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes. Must have experience using Epic Clarity.

• Must have a sound understanding of business intelligence best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse, and reporting techniques.

• Requires expert level knowledge of ICD-10-CM, APR-DRG, MS-DRG and other related classification systems as demonstrated by experience using such systems

• Requires experience in developing and presenting information to executive level audiences, and coordination of staff in providing support services to clients in decentralized or consulting environments
