Position Summary:

LAFCU's Digital Payment Specialist (ACH/EFT) is responsible for handling electronic payment exceptions, escalations, and reconciliations related to online transactions initiated through ACH, Real Time Payments, Online Wires, and/or Zelle within established timeframes in order to mitigate risk. Independently conducts research and makes recommendations for new payment products and services for the digital channel. Independently analyze, research, and support electronic payment cases/claims/inquiries escalated by internal departments to resolve electronic payment cases/claims/inquiries and escalations in a timely manner. Additionally, must maintain an ongoing knowledge of ever-changing digital payments. Maintain extensive and expert knowledge of the policy, operating rules, and regulations of payments channel in order to lead/support periodic reviews of operational procedures for changes, streamline processes, and compliment payments channel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail. This position is a full-time non-exempt hybrid remote position and reports to the AVP of Digital Experience remotely and/or at the employee’s assigned location and/or will be required work remotely.


Job Summary & Description:
  • Responsible for handling digital payment exceptions, escalations, and reconciliations related to ACH, Real Time Payments, Wire and/or Zelle within established timeframes in order to mitigate risk.
  • Process and works with Digital Administration to resolve disputed transactions related to ACH, Real Time Payments, Wire and/or Zelle within established timeframes.
  • Manage daily activities for Lumin ACH processing including approving, activating and resolving high risk items.
  • As assigned and as needed, may support other Digital Administration functions.
  • Monitor and recommend refinement of existing digital payment workflows; develop and implement new processes where needed. Write drafts of related policies and procedures.
  • Oversees and monitors department activities for compliance with established policies and procedures. The Digital Payment Specialist works closely with the AVP of Digital Experience and operations to ensure that all operation standards are met, and that issues are appropriately escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the daily processing of Online Wires to ensure request are processed in a timely manner.
  • Provides internal staff support for escalated member issues related to Online/Mobile Banking.
  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple priorities within established time frames including working remotely.
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter, and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in ACH and banking operations. Understanding of and experience with A2A, and P2P including processing and related services is highly desired
  • Friendly and professional. Excellent communication skills; sound judgment, attention to detail and ability to write.
  • Work as a team member to achieve department goals, credit union goals, commitment to service and to assist credit union employees/departments.
