General Summary:
The Cable Installer is a technician roll that provides installation services across multiple platforms in support of head ends, hubs, and central offices. Technical responsibilities include working with a team to install various pieces of electronic gear and cabling systems to support our customers in the MSO, cable, telephone, data center and communications industry.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and complete cabling installation activities with team
- Lead and complete equipment installation activities with team
- Lead and complete infrastructure installation activities with team
- Review, update, augment, and provide job documentation
- Testing video, RF, coax, fiber and UTP
- Quality assurance
- Working as a team
Desired Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
- Knowledge/Experience of cable TV systems, head-ends and equipment like CMTS, CASA, DCM, etc.
- Knowledge/Experience of infrastructure and installation experience
- Knowledge/Experience of coaxial, fiber, unshielded twisted pair cable assemblies, stitching/lacing and proper installation of each
- Knowledge/Experience of DC Power
- Basic PC or phone application use
Education and Experience:
- 1+ years field technical installation and cabling experience
- 1+ years working with documentation on technical jobs (JCR, SOW, etc.)
- 1+ years of leading work/jobs in the field
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 100lbs
- Must be able to pass drug screening
