Overview:

The Senior Custom Quotations Specialist is an integral part of the sales team. A well rounded and self-sufficient team member, this role assists the Associate Director of Quotations and Custom Product in areas of custom lead validation, project management, recognizing opportunities to close profitable orders, supplying proactive delivery schedules, and providing top notch quality customer support. This role will support all W Group Lighting products and projects primarily working with outside sales reps, customers, specifiers, and contractors as well as internally with Inside Sales, Purchasing, R&D and Order Processing.

Job Responsibilities:

· Validate and capture project information for custom leads by working with the sales and end customer.

· Coordinate bid strategy withInside Sales, TSMs, and outside Sales Representatives. Interpret customer requirements and offer solutions that maximize profitability and add value for the customer.

· Create quotations on custom and misc. projects.

· Provide quotations to customers by utilizing sales and technical knowledge for the preparation of quotation packages for moderately complex projects. Identifies possible alternates for discontinued items as well as flags any potential conflicts in material.

  • Provide special pricing/discounted quotations based on project need.

· Custom project support.

· Answer elevated customer/rep inquires in an accurate, timely, efficient and courteous manner.

· Work across departments in order to resolve rep or customer issues concerning project lead times, pricing, and competition.

· Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders and improve quotation process.

  • Process Quote Reviews in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify Quote Reviews that require a job name or split commission and resolve accordingly.
  • Supply air freight quotations to customers as needed.
  • Works with other departments for deliverables needed for the project and marks quotations for credit accordingly.

· Perform root cause analysis of complications on projects or company procedures and suggest short and long-term resolution with implementation.

· Effectively lead multiple projects and assignments through to completion.

· Manages quotations in assigned territories and or channels for order status and validity.

· Maintain high level of support for sales force.

· Perform monthly reporting representing custom quote functions.

· Create training documentation.

Key Expectations:

· Self sufficient and well versed in all parts of quotations process no matter the complexity of the quotation.

· Prepare quotes of materials requested by Inside Sales, outside sales reps and customers.

· Creates custom quotations, manage customer expectations, and develop resolution closely with R&D while minimizing cost and lead time impact.

· Analyze needs of department to recognize and implement process improvements.

· Provide cross-departmental trainings to ensure knowledge and continuity of the quotation process.

· Collect pertinent information about project and use this data to quote quickly, accurately, competitively, and transparently.

· Complete crossovers and layouts on fixture schedules, working with urgency on all projects.

· Work with sales team to prepare reports and to maintain project database.

· Maintain and increase job and product knowledge for the team by studying new products and competitor lines; participating in educational opportunities and leading trainings.

· Maintain and improve quotations process by following standards; recommending improved policies and procedures.

· Make judgment decisions based on the best available information.

· Follow-up on all open quotes to gain closure based on quote schedule.

· Ensure the correct reps are receiving sales and commission credit.

Preferred:

· SAP

· Sugar CRM

· ZenDesk

· Knowledge of manufacturing and or industrial design.

· Basic electrical knowledge.

Requirements:

· Candidate must have excellent communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and organizational skills.

· Sales driven.

· Attention to detail in composing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks/demands and get results.

· Must have the ability to learn new skills, and facilitate training.

· Must be capable of independently making decisions on a daily basis.

· Must be capable of managing relationships with a focus on long term partnerships.

· Must have strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.

· Must be capable of solving problems of moderate scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.

· Must be capable of coordinating, communicating with multiple departments.

· Proficient with Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

· Takes ownership and is responsible.

· Team player.

· BA or BS degree.
