The Credit Manager is responsible for the overall management of credit utilization, credit policy adherence, credit insurance policies, and credit risk mitigation for the North American Receivable portfolio. This includes the consistent application of the credit management policy and procedures manual, consistent with the United Malt Group Credit Policy and Risk Management Framework and directives. The Credit Manager will also be responsible for global adherence to credit insurance policy provisions and will manage credit reviews of existing customers and assess the creditworthiness of potential customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives compliance under the Delegation of Authority policy and Credit Insurances(s).
  • Reports on global Credit Policy Adherence and global credit insurance utilization.
  • Partners with credit insurer(s) on global credit insurance policies.
  • Prepares consolidated insured and uninsured aging reports globally.
  • Has oversight of credit insurance claims and assists with collections when a credit customer is involved.
  • Responsible for designing and creating systems and procedures that mitigate reliance on key individuals.
  • Evaluates gaps and deploy process improvements to improve team effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the risk management process and application of standard procedures.
  • Ensures data integrity by reducing errors and redundancy.
  • Responsible for the effective daily, weekly, and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and risk exposure reports, as well as reporting of late debtors and breach reporting.
  • Maintains maximum turnover rate in receivables while limiting bad debt exposure.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of customer files.
  • Evaluates credit practices to ensure Sales Team effectiveness.
  • Continuous review and management of risk associated with North America’s customer portfolio(s).
  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of risk management procedures.
  • Conducts risk analysis for current/new vendor and customer portfolios and pending business relationships.
  • Approval responsibility for new customers; manage account limits on hold.
  • Bad and doubtful debt proposals to management.
  • Establish credit limits and terms as outlined by department procedures (SOPs).
  • Establish and enforce policies related to export customer risk, policy limits, and sales declarations.
  • Drive a positive and productive team environment.
  • Responsible for ongoing cross-functional training, supporting departmental process improvement.
  • Performance review and management.
  • Establish and maintain day-to-day procedures for role scope.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Credit Management Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with approved delegations.
  • Design and implement a debtor forecasting model to forewarn pending credit limit concerns.
  • Responsible for reporting risk concerns related to North America’s customer portfolio(s).

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Business or Finance/Accounting/Economics or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrated work experience, preferably through a multinational company.
  • Proven knowledge of Financial Statement Analysis, Risk Assessment, and Security Instruments.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong internal controls.
  • Experience in leading a credit function.
  • Experience working with credit insurers

COMPENSATION
Range: $78,707 - $98,384 per year. The United Malt pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law
