Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30am-4:30 pm or 8:30am-5:30pm with a 1 hour lunch break.

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr. ($52,000 annually)

Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent license/certification are eligible for a salary up to a maximum of $58,000.

The Virginia Correctional Center for Women is located in Goochland, VA. This program utilizes the therapeutic community model while blending gender responsive and cognitive restructuring approaches.

The Counselor is responsible for:

• Facilitating group programming and meetings, individual counseling sessions, case management services, and clinical documentation.
• Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
• Participating in multi-disciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, and conferences.
• Working closely with the Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality delivery of services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizens.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
• State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
• Must provide proof of COVID vaccination or, as an alternative, appropriate documentation that will support either a medical or religious exemption
