The Controller serves as a key member of Haven’s Leadership Team, responsible for working with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the financial needs of Haven are met. The Controller is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting of The Companies, and the production of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.

The Controller and its functions operate under tight deadlines and is responsible for the finance and accounting activities including:

  • General ledger management
  • Account reconciliations
  • Cash management
  • Cash receipts
  • Accounts payable
  • Preparation, publication and review of monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting and analysis within Haven and SantaFe HealthCare
  • Preparing tax documents and regulatory reports
  • Maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting
  • Facilitating the external independent audit its preparation and activities
  • Development of the annual budget and routine forecasts/projections and various data analytics.

The Controller is also responsible for the management and oversight of the revenue cycle, including ensuring:

  • Services are billed accurately and completely and on a timely basis
  • Billings are collected on a timely basis
  • Related general ledger accounts (including Periodic Interim Payments from CMS) are reconciled each month
  • Setting reserves and/or allowances for potential non-collectable balances, etc.

You Have:

  • Education – Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
  • Experience - At least five years relevant accounting experience and at least five additional years with accounting supervisory/leadership experience required. Previous public accounting experience preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and insurance.

Location: Gainesville

Remote with occasional travel to the Gainesville office, must reside within our service area.
