Depending on the role the below describes responsibilities for our writers and editors with some roles handling both.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Writes about general interest topics or draws upon specialized knowledge in both technical and non technical areas to produce information across multiple channels and platforms.
- Assist in content design, focused on experiences that give admins insights into how products are used in their organization.
- Write friendly, brilliantly clear UI text within the parameters of our voice & tone principles.
- Design and write content for in-product experiences that help customers achieve their goals.
- Capitalize on multiple sources of customer data to inform your content design.
- Understand, employ, and evangelize our content design principles, coherence guidelines, and content design evaluation tools.
- Identify opportunities for content additions, improvements, and innovations and effectively pitch those ideas to the team and stakeholders.
- Use established guidelines and patterns to continue to promote consistency and coherence.
- Contribute to terminology work to document commerce terms & patterns.
- Provides copy editing support to technical editors, programmer editors and writers.
- Ensures compliance with corporate and group editorial style standards.
- Maintains correctness, consistency and accuracy in documentation.
- Ensures compliance with corporate legal guidelines for adding trademarks to product names.
- Performs production proofing and coordination tasks, as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelors degree in English, Communications or related area preferred.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work under deadline pressure.
- Familiarity with one or more standard style guides required.
