SITE COORDINATOR


Responsible to:

Building Principal and Assistant Principal/Director


Qualifications:


Education:
Bachelor degree required or demonstrate relevant equivalent

in social services, education or related field


Skills and knowledge:

  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills as well as
  • exceptional attention to detail and follow through on assignments.
  • Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to
  • write clearly and concisely is important.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Google and the G-Suite (including G-mail, Docs,
  • Slides, Sheets, and Forms)

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school staff to mobilize the resources of local agencies
  • and the community to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Adhere to the guidelines and expectations of Communities in Schools
  • Indiana.
  • Maintain accurate data that is relevant to the planning, management and
  • evaluation of the school PBIS program.
  • Provide children and their families with information so that they will gain
  • access to and effectively use formal and informal community resources.
  • Maintain adequate safeguards for privacy and confidentiality of
  • information.
  • Work with Square 1 Behavioral Health staff to provide crisis intervention
  • with student and families including clothing, nutritional, housing and
  • health needs.
  • Collaborate with school personnel to ensure that students and their
  • families are provided services within the context of multicultural
  • understanding and sensitivities that enhance the families’ support of the
  • children’s learning experiences.
  • Help students resolve such personal, emotional and social problems that
  • may interfere with their adjustments to school and their capacity to obtain
  • the fullest benefits of the education offered to them.
  • Conduct home visits to ensure academic success.
  • Consult with school personnel about home, neighborhood and community
  • conditions affecting students’ welfare, school policies and practices.
  • Help parents recognize the exceptional characteristics of their children and
  • facilitate their use of the full range of social, educational, and recreational
  • services in the community.
  • Offer ongoing in-service training to staff and parents (basic needs of
  • children, classroom relationships, family system conflicting values and
  • alternative management techniques to deal with disruptive or withdrawn
  • behavior and ways to maximize the child’s potential).
  • Aid in identification of child or target group of children needing
  • preventive social services and subsequent development of preventive
  • social services to meet the needs of a child or target group.
  • Reduce the tension of students and parents in crisis by using appropriate
  • conflict resolution skills.
  • Keep sufficient records of cases for use by school staff members and
  • outside agencies when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the community partners to coordinate services for parents
  • and students.
  • All other duties assigned by the CIS supervisor and/or building level
  • principal.
