As a Loan Origination Associate I in the Closing Coordination you will be responsible for coordinating complex bilateral loans for Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries. You will work closely with the JPMorgan origination businesses, ensuring that all necessary information is reviewed for operational feasibility and optimal execution. You will partner with various internal and external parties, including but not limited to Credit Risk, Loan and Agency Services, Legal, and JPMorgan Bankers.

Job Responsibilities :
  • Manage and maintain an individual pipeline of active Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries complex bilateral loans
  • Leverage broad commercial lending experience to direct the closing process from mandate through funding to meet client expectations
  • Collect and review legal loan documentation for operational feasibility, optimal execution mechanics, regulatory requirements, and mitigation of operational risk
  • Review internal loan related spreadsheets (e.g., funds flows) for accuracy and completeness
  • Liaise and coordinate pre-closing requirements with internal partners and outside
  • Review and advise on funding mechanics and operational requirements relating to products, process, and policies
  • Coordinate with Commercial Banking partners to ensure internal Know Your Candidate and regulatory requirements are complete and coordinate mitigation efforts, if applicable
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert/point of contact for inquiries from Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries partners and Outside Counsel pertaining to the closing process and ongoing maintenance of the deal
  • Lead internal Deal Team meetings to ensure pre-closing requirements have been met and resolve / escalate any outstanding issues
  • Execution of best practices around control and risk mitigation
  • Participate in projects and provide valuable input with various working groups created to enhance performance and efficiency
  • Translates documentation into critical data elements for retention in systems of record (proposal release checklist)

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities :
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Commercial lending experience
  • Expert knowledge of commercial bilateral loan products, including an understanding of underwriting, deal structures, loan documentation and funds flows
  • Proven experience leading team of internal/external partners along with the review of loan structures and documentation ahead of closing large, complex transactions
  • Demonstrated advanced understanding of financial services, specifically within Commercial Banking
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management across and within the lines of business with a keen attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills, and strong analytical capability
  • Ability to operate in a challenging and rapidly changing environment with a desire to accept new assignments and the ability to learn new principles and dynamic systems quickly
  • Critical decision-making abilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose solutions to problems
  • Ability to multi-task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and self-motivate, as well as work as part of a team
  • Client focus
  • Previous experience working on ACBS, LIQ, or iCRD is a plus
