Job Description:

Develop, maintain, and manage commercial loan relationships. This will include developing loan and deposit business from commercial customers and assisting them to structure loans that fit their current needs and work with these customers to assist them in all facets of their business growth or other challenges, and opportunities they may experience. This process will entail collaborating with many other areas of the bank including, but not limited to, cash or treasury management, credit administration, branch administration, and loan and deposit operations. Also, working with struggling commercial clients in the collection, work out and possibly the liquidation or foreclosure stages.

Specific Job Functions:

· Interview and create a working dialogue with loan applicants, collect and review appropriate and necessary financial and related information, and determine the general creditworthiness of the prospect and the specific merits (strengths and weaknesses) of the loan request.

· Establish and negotiate the structural terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method, collateral requirements, and other relevant information.

· Approve loans within the Bank’s loan policy and the officer’s individual lending limits.

· Refer creditworthy loans above individual lending limit, as well as those outside the policy, to the appropriate manager or loan committee. Present credits at appropriate committee level in a thorough and professional manner.

· Develop materials for the presentation of loans as necessary.

· Advise customers, where appropriate, on business and financial matters relating to loans.

· Assure that appropriate reports related to the position are completed accurately and filed in a timely manner.

· Initiate orders of appraisals, credit reports, title work, flood determinations (if no administrative assistant assigned) and other information as needed for loan applications.

· Quickly communicate approvals or denials to loan applicants.

· Track goals and objectives for individual performance as it relates to overall bank goals. Assist in tracking and completing necessary on-line or other reports to assist management in determining progress in meeting assigned goals.

· Participate in call program to maintain and increase customer base.

· Introduce customers to all bank products, cross-selling as appropriate.

· Participate in community activities to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.

· Keep up with educational requirements and maintain a working knowledge of laws and regulations along with developing, if needed commensurate with experience, a deeper understanding of all bank products and services and related policies and procedures.

· Review all accounts in delinquent or past due status, and take appropriate actions to collect and bring accounts to current position. May include engaging in work out activities and/or liquidation and foreclosure.

· Quickly identify problem loans and discuss with the appropriate manager or loan committee. Complete problem loan status reports in a timely and thorough manner.

· Maintain loan files and review as necessary for adequate collateral and security coverage as required by Bank’s loan policy.

· Provide support to other branches when managers or loan officers need assistance.

· Responsible for being compliant with all regulations and compliance requirements pertaining to job function.

· Carry out such other duties as may be assigned or requested.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field.

· Two plus years or more of proven experience in a loan department or similar financial position engaging in similar activities.

· Working knowledge of a commercial bank’s products and services, the functional areas within the bank and policies and procedures typical of a commercial bank.

· Proven ability to collaborate with other areas of a bank as mentioned above to create win-win situations for customers and the bank.
