TITLE: CLERK I - CENTRAL OFFICEQUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma and four years work experience or Associates Degree with 2 years work experience, required. Bachelors Degree Preferred.Prior experience in school based or similar accounts payable experience preferred.Strong organizational ,written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.Experience managing multiple projects, compliance with district, state, federal policy and regulations, and meeting reporting timelines.Proficient with computer applications, including but not limited to, Google, Microsoft Office Suite. IV Accounting system highly desirable.Strong data management, analysis, and reporting skills.Experience in managing office equipment and supplies.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.REPORTS TO: Accounting ManagerJOB GOAL: To be a key member of the team in meeting the timely and efficient operations of the district.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: --Prepares and/or assists in the preparation and administration of purchase orders, requisitions and schedules.--Provides support to the Business Office in the following manner: central point of contact for managing inventory levels and ordering office supplies, maintaining postage on postage machines, coordinating copier repairs as needed.--Create and post all purchase order adjustments.--Posting of all accounts payable vouchers to the general ledger.--Timely management of vendor inquiries and requests.--Create and maintain vendor files and ensure compliance with W-9 requirements.--Maintain district level accounts with various office supply vendors.--Reconciliation of vendor statements to invoices. --Preparation, reconciliation, review and filing of the annual 1099's and various reports required by state and local agencies.--Follow up on outstanding checks, reissue as necessary and remit unclaimed property to the State.--Monitor account level budgets and advise management of budgetary line-item deficiencies.--Training of new clerical employees on the use of Infinite Visions School ERP Pro accounts payable and general ledger systems.--Support district/school clerks with questions and problem solving. --Provides back up to the front office when required.--Work with independent, state and federal auditors as necessary to support various district audits.--Interacting with the public related to school department business.--Other related duties may be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer/Accounting Manager/or designee--Attendance is an essential function of all BWRSD positions.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: To be successful in the position, a candidate must demonstrate the ability to make arithmetical computations and tabulations with speed and accuracy, learn and utilize and remain current in the District accounts payable software system, prepare and distribute accurate reports and prepare effective correspondence on routine matters. Operates a variety of office equipment, including calculator, computer and other common office machines in a timely, and accurate manner.

Ability to establish effective working relationships district wide. Ability to follow written and oral instructions in the completion of assigned tasks in a timely, accurate manner. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 52-week year. Salary to be established by the School Committee.
