The Claims Representative 2 Material Damage investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and brings Material Damage claims to a final resolution. You will handle claims for both first party and third-party claimants, including, but not limited to, liability investigations and damage assignments. Claims are handled and resolved according to applicable regulations and the organization’s standards.

What We Offer:

Pay Range $65,478 - $75,000 (Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis).

What You'll Do:

  • Promptly and effectively handles to conclusion all assigned claims in accordance with prescribed authorization and claims best practices.
  • Makes decisions within delegated authority as outlined in company policies and procedures.
  • Initiates and conducts follow-ups via proficient use of claims systems and related business systems.
  • Verifies proper policy coverages and applies best claims practices to conclude assigned cases in accordance with company guidelines. Adheres to high standards of professional conduct while providing delivery of superior claims service.
  • Opens, closes and adjusts reserves and payments in accordance with company practices designed to ensure reserve adequacy.
  • Maintains current knowledge of guidelines in the claims function, policy changes and modifications, and relevant laws and regulations in the states in which GIA does business.
  • Partners with other groups to identify fraud and recovery opportunities.

What You'll Bring:

REQUIRED:

  • Prior claims experience.
  • Prior customer service experience and a passion to deliver on our customer value proposition. This entails having a sense of urgency and anticipating customers’ needs.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn auto insurance contracts.
  • Curious mindset to unravel how accidents occurred and to understand the duties the involved parties owed and potentially breach.
  • Analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve conflict in such areas as application of coverage to submitted claims, application of laws of jurisdiction to investigation facts, application of policy exclusions and exceptions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively communicate and/or negotiate with various parties.
  • Organizational skills to effectively prioritize various tasks and workloads.
  • Ability to work using a PC and related software.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and good judgment.
