TITLE: Chief Strategy Officer – Physicians for a Healthy California

LOCATION: Sacramento DIVISION: Physicians for a Healthy California

EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

Position Summary:

The Chief Strategy Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Chief Strategy Officer is a full-time position responsible for implementing PHC’s strategic plan, identifying and executing growth opportunities and developing strategic alliances to further PHC’s mission. This position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and the Board of Directors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Executes PHC’s strategic plan and growth strategy by collaborating with the CEO, COO and Board of Directors
• Evaluates overall business portfolio for additional opportunities including strategic partnerships
• Analyzes healthcare industry factors, competitive dynamics, organization capabilities, and strategic risks
• Establishes and reviews key strategic priorities and translating them into a comprehensive strategic plan.
• Translates, operationalizes, and tracks strategic plan
• Drives key strategic initiatives through inception phases
• Ensures programs and functions reflect organizational strategic priorities
• Facilitates long term financial and program sustainability planning and execution
• Oversees PHC’s organizational communication efforts including website, social media postings, newsletters, and promotions
• Serves as key liaison to California Medical Association Government Relations and policy departments
• Oversees daily operations of Strategic Initiatives programs including Network Ethnic Physician Organizations (NEPO), Female Physicians of Color (FPOC), Graduate Medical Education Startup Solutions (GMESS) and other key initiatives in partnership with staff
• Identifies projects to help strengthen the organizations portfolio and infrastructure
• Increases organizational performance through use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Monitors and communicates organizational progress and helps minimize risk
• Knowledge/Experience/Education:
• At least five years of experience administering programs and managing program staff
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Experience in analyzing data to forecast trends and make astute assessments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational skills
• Ability to travel and occasionally work evening and weekend events
• Computer skill in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
