About the Organization and Position

Well known Non-Profit Behavioral Health Agency is hiring for a Chief HR (People) & Equity Officer. This is an executive position and part of the Senior Executive Leadership Team. The Chief People and Equity Officer (CPEO) is responsible for developing and executing equity-oriented human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of DEIB, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, compensation, benefits and culture management. The CPEO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR and Equity opportunities, initiatives and plans to the CEO and the Senior Executive Leadership Team and leads or partners in their execution.

This well known and well established non-profit agency provides psychiatry, medication management, outpatient substance use treatment, case management, supportive housing, LGBTQ youth and youth care. Our services cross age ranges from children to older adults.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement HR efforts that are rooted in equity and effectively communicate and support

the company’s mission and strategic vision.

  • Develop a vision and plans to comprehensively develop our staff for career growth and mission success
  • Reimagine and redesign HR practices and other aspects of culture and operations that integrate and

optimize DEIB principles leading to an equity focused culture

  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing culture and organizational

development, talent acquisition, employee relations, professional development, succession planning,retention, training, leadership development, compensation, benefits, worker’s compensation, Health &Safety Program, personnel process, investigations/grievances to reach resolutions and support a healthy work environment.

  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business and service

operations objectives.

  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the company's executive management team to establish a sound plan of management

succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.

  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of

strategic goals.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective and represent best practice
  • Responsible for supporting all HR-Related legal issues, claims, and lawsuits. Manages complaints from EEOC and Civil Rights Division (DFEH).
  • Align performance management goals across the agency. Develop a system of performance management that reflects strategic goals appropriately for each level of staff.

Experience

  • MBA or MA/MS in human resources or JD preferred. BA/BS required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of DEIB theory and practice and it’s centrality to culture management
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills; Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting; experienced leadership with a demonstrated ability to manage in a rapidly growing, dynamic and changing environment.
  • Non-profit Experience preferred especially within human service organizations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $185,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
