Chemical Operator – Atomizer

Produce high quality products and services for our customers. You will assemble and inspect product to ensure the highest quality product is provided to our customers. You will be responsible for your work area to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the area. You will set up and monitor the production of product in your area and participate in the continuous improvement process at the site to address safety, production and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe operation and housekeeping of assigned work area (Atomizer) and report unsafe conditions
  • Expected to train and maintain competency in multiple work areas and stay current with operating procedures (Atomizer, Priller)
  • Participate in safety meetings and processes which will require individual and group tasks to be completed on a routine basis
  • Participate in PHAs, Procedure Reviews, Project Meetings, and other PSM activities
  • Quickly identify ways to get back to standard production by escalating process constraints and equipment malfunctions/failures to their peers and supervisor
  • Maintain computer access to check email (corporate and site communications including but not limited to work instructions), access log sheets, complete computer based training, write work notifications in SAP.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and operations work in their assigned area is being performed safely and in accordance with any applicable procedures
  • Follow instructions given by Team Lead or Supervisor and help other areas when needed
  • Safely operating equipment including but not limited to pumps, compressors, within operating guidelines
  • Make changes to the operating process to maintain product quality
  • Adjust control instruments, valves or switches to regulate pressure, temperature or flow rate of product.
  • Take routine readings on process variables.
  • Retrieve product samples
  • Promptly respond to process alarms / constraints
  • Start-up / shut-down process equipment
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance and issues safe work, line break, hot work and life critical permits
  • Work 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights) and cover overtime vacancies

YOU MUST HAVE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years Manufacturing experience and/or Chemical Manufacturing experience

o Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) - Process Operating Technology or equivalent in lieu of manufacturing work experience


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to open/close valves, connect/disconnect hoses, and perform other tasks required by the job role
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and various weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, and bend lift and perform a wide range of physical activities
  • Ability to work at various heights; entry into confined spaces; work in various adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions
