Supports patient care delivery by helping healthcare providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing instruments; administering medications on the premises; and educates patients by providing medication and diet information.

Prepares patients for health care visit by directing or accompanying them to the examining room providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies and equipment.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program

Certified Medical Assistant.

• Current BLS for healthcare professionals required upon hired.
• Minimum of six months to one year of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge

Functional Position Requirements:

Job requirements include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting and reaching. Requires good finger dexterity, repetitive motions with hands and fingers. Requires ability to have good vision and hearing. Pushing and pulling equipment may be necessary.
