Caregiver / Direct Care Professional / No certification needed for Glenwood Iowa
We are looking for Passionate Non-certified Direct Care Professionals (Caregivers) to join our team working with Intellectually Disabled individuals. We are looking for Caregivers that have a passion to help others and make a difference in the daily lives of the individuals they provide support care services to. We have 13 week assignments as well as full time positions available.
Services provided are Home and Community Based Waiver Services individuals ranging in age from 23 to 80, and functioning levels ranging from profound to mild intellectually disabled. About 41% of the population is considered medically fragile (use wheelchairs, have swallowing and feeding problems, are on internal feeding, etc.)
Position Summary
Responsible for providing routine daily care to assigned individuals under the direct supervision of a licensed nursing professional in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
Non-Licensed Position
Experience working as a caregiver
Experience working with intellectually disabled patients is desired but not required
High school diploma or equivalent
CPR certification (can obtain during orientation)
Job Requirements
Provide personal care services as a caregiver in a community home setting
Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to patient rights, and safety, and sanitation
Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Understand and follow company policies
Essential Functions
Lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
Assist patients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting under the direct supervisor of a licensed nurse
Accurately document and chart patient care
Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
Assist in the evacuation of patients, if needed
Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending, stooping, and lifting as required for patient care and transport
Must be able to walk up and down stairs
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and twist frequently when providing nursing care or training
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must be able to clear background checks
Maintaining a safe and clean environment Interacting with residents with sensitivity, dignity, and respect
Ability to report to the worksite regularly and on time
Ability to follow orders and directives
Ability to work with others (build, foster & maintain partnerships at a variety of levels)

Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS’s) new vaccine mandate for healthcare workers (published on November 5, 2021 and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court on January 13, 2022), all potential employees of this facility must have received, at a minimum, the first dose of a primary series or a single dose vaccine OR have an approved religious or medical exemption (as determined by the agency) OR have documentation reflecting a temporary delay in vaccination (as determined by the agency in accordance with CDC allowances), prior to the start date.
