IT Business Intelligence Architect

This challenging, critical role is based in our newly renovated Middleton, WI Corporate Headquarters. A highly collaborative role, this position works with functional users, internal and external IT resources and will join a talented team and company that is investing heavily in IT systems and services.

Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Architect is primarily responsible for providing advanced technical skills and leadership in the design, development, control, and use of business reporting and analytic tools. This position is responsible for the full cycle of consulting, design, coding, testing, training, and documentation of the company’s BI solutions. The incumbent will proactively investigate opportunities to increase the value of the BI solutions in place as well as successful establishment and preservation of BI portal governance.

Job Duties
  • Design and build BI solutions to support business data evaluation and decision-making process
  • Work with Data Warehouse architect to ensure appropriate data is available to support BI needs
  • Translate user requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation plan.
  • Define policies, procedures, and governance for the BI solutions that is aligned with the overall BI strategy.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in BI tool development concepts.
  • Establish controls to ensure BI tools are presenting accurate and timely information
  • Ensure consistent use of information architecture standards.
  • Coordinate and support development efforts of technical and corporate staff with SQL tuning efforts as well as ongoing application implementation, support and related upgrades.
  • Design, Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI
  • Provide frequent phone and email communication with customers and internal resources.
  • Research and recommend new tools and technologies where needed.
  • Defines and documents individual processes within sphere of control

Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related business field required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of Analytics experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong Business Process and Business knowledge experience required.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with requirement specifications to define scope and system boundaries, recommend alternative methods to achieve complex system requirements and estimate resource implications of requirements at a high level
  • Expertise with BI technologies including evidence of proficiency in Microsoft BI solutions
  • Proven track record of successfully designing, developing, implementing, and actively managing SQL Server business intelligence solutions - SQL Server and SQL Toolset (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), including stored procedure development
  • The ideal candidate must also have a deep understanding of how businesses leverage data in core functional areas, specifically in the areas of Sales, Manufacturing, and Finance
  • Ability to translate business requirements into process and technical specifications
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills
