The Project Development, Business Development is responsible for a combination of digging up new opportunities, qualifying leads, and project management-like responsibilities. This role will work directly with the Interior Systems team to oversee projects on a national scale and support business objectives for The Berg Group as a whole.

This trail-blazing role will require a deep understanding of the sales process as well as the project completion process from takeoff to punch list. The Project Development, Business Development will be the eyes and ears in the field for Interior Systems jobs being completed throughout the country.

This “DIRTT Warrior” is responsible for increasing brand awareness for The Berg Group and pushing the idea of DIRTT and offsite manufactured construction to the market and The Berg Group internally.

This position will be joining the Berg Team, a respected leader in the commercial drywall industry for over 50 years. We are a growing company with offices in Chaska, MN, West Sacramento, CA, Carlsbad, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Bozeman, MT, Naples, FL, and growing opportunities in Austin, TX.

Essential Functions

Primary Responsibilities/Duties

  • Works closely with DIRTT Team to track the status of projects included but not limited to invoices, change orders, project schedules and project updates.
  • Collaborates with team to carry out onsite work such as site dims and punch list walks.
  • In tandem with Project Manager, tracks material orders to ensure they arrive ahead or on- schedule- communicate with the team on arrival setbacks.
  • Learn and appreciate the needs of clients from the office to the field from C-suite executives to Site Superintendents to apprentice carpenters.
  • Get to where the clients and partners are- attend events in the local business community, actively contribute to the growth of the partnerships Berg has on a national scale.
  • Maintain product knowledge to help partners understand the benefits of DIRTT and offsite construction.
  • Build a strong understanding of construction, real estate, and job site conditions.
  • Participate in the construction process and maintain positive interaction with the General Contractor and Project Manager.
  • Attend weekly job meetings and act as channel of communication to entire Berg Group project management team.
  • Review ICE files with ICE Designer and Project Team to ensure complete understanding of Berg scope of work.
  • Intimate with the details of each project and understanding of the scope of work on-site.
  • Track and create usable analytics to articulate trends in business process and opportunities

  • Participate in and support recruitment, hiring, onboarding efforts as appropriate to develop an exceptional regional team.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that enhances employee satisfaction, engagement, and results-orientation while encouraging innovation and creativity.
  • Provide time for regular and effective 1 on 1 meetings with all direct reports.
  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate with direct reports regularly.
  • Establishes and achieves specific, measurable, and obtainable objectives that support Berg's overall growth and profitability objectives while creating client, employee, and company success.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Alignment with The Berg Group’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values
  • Strong marketing and sales capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and perform several activities at one time.
  • Understanding of what it takes to get a project to shop drawing stage.
  • Experience with Traction/EOS a plus.
  • Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment.
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, dependability, enthusiasm, and ethical judgment.
  • The ability to work effectively remotely if required, with an effective interface with company offices and employees.
  • Results-driven personality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Strategic Communication, or similar field.
  • Experience in a construction firm as a sales and marketing leader.
  • Strong knowledge of the DIRTT process a plus.
  • Keeps organization informed and enthused about the way offsite manufacturing supports the business.
  • Ability to consistently manage numerous high-priority projects at the same time.
  • Understanding of Interior Construction – Architectural Elements, Lighting, Electrical, HVAC, basic base-building knowledge.
  • Ability to present a professional image to management, employees, clients, and other outside contacts.
