LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Healthcare Billing Specialist in the Knoxville area. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately processing and submitting medical claims to insurance companies, as well as following up on outstanding claims to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. The Healthcare Billing Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve any issues related to medical billing and coding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes for procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage prior to service
  • Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers
  • Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement
  • Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve any issues related to medical billing and coding
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current medical billing and coding regulations and guidelines
  • Assist with other billing and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
  • Knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, including Medicare and Medicaid
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Details: M-F, 8-5pm, $17-$18hr; Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria
