Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Business Operations, Grants and Government Contracts, this position will provide support to the management of the branch’s financial and accounting operations. As the branch’s financial professional, this position will function effectively at providing support and oversight of financial operations to performing all day-to-day business and accounting tasks. This position is part-time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain an annual calendar of key deadlines for all financial reports to funders and invoices for government contracts within Education and Training.
  • Provide support to the Director of Business Operation, Grants and Government Contracts regarding meeting contract deadlines and submitting invoices to different funders.
  • Maintain accurate processing of all revenue associated with Education and Training Programs including point of sale, credit, and daily cash reconciliation.
  • Meet with Directors to assure accuracy and compliance
  • Cultivates positive relationships with participants and encourage YMCA’s core values of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility.
  • Manage Accounting Systems SPIRIT and ADP as well as all Vendor Portals associated with Education and Training programs
  • Manage accounts payable, ensuring all bills are recorded properly and paid promptly
  • Deposit cash daily and prepare weekly reconciliations of deposit records with the general ledger
  • Support any duties within the Education and Training programs


EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in providing financial guidance to management a plus
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions on his/her own
  • Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Passion and interest in working in the nonprofit sector
