The Billing and Payables Specialist is responsible for supporting third party accounts and serves as a liaison between business units, to ensure a smooth and efficient billing and payment process.

Essential Job Duties:

• Work in collaboration with the Rail Operations team to resolve payment and billing discrepancies
• Proactively reach out to appropriate departments to investigate credits or short pays for loads that require adjustments
• Produce rate confirmations to be sent to trucking partners
• Create billable and payable orders in the Evans dispatch system
• Manage Carrier invoices in Salesforce
• Proactively maintain communication internally and externally
• Generate reports and conduct audits for load billing metrics
• Upload paperwork and associated documentation to the billing portal
• Release payments to carriers
• Review aging reports and apply credits and short pays as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of Billing/Accounts Payable experience
• 1+ years of Customer Service experience
• Strong typing skills
• Analytical and detail-oriented
• Top notch organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; must have basic Excel skills
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting or related field
• 1+ years of Transportation/Logistics experience
• ERP system experience
• Advanced Excel skills
