Benefits Analyst

$35 - $38/hr.

Post Oak Blvd. Houston, TX

Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm

6-month contract

One of our exciting clients, a commercial energy provider, is looking for an experienced Benefits Analyst who will analyze current benefit packages, and trends to make recommendations. Your duties vary from health, welfare, and retirement for their employees in the US and Canada. This role reports directly to the Benefits Manager and will be the primary point of contact for policies, proposing amendments, and communicating with management and employees. We are looking for candidates who are excited to collaborate effectively with vendors, management, and employees about changes to existing benefit policies. Preferred candidates will have an excellent understanding of the benefits industry to offer employees the best benefits and attract desirable candidates.

What You Will Do in This Role:
  • Be the primary contact for benefits administration including Dental, Vision, Flex Spending, Health Savings, EAP, Wellness, and Canadian health and welfare and retirement (RRSP plan administration
  • Responsible for administering life and disability, leave management, and FSA, and HSA programs
  • Work with ancillary benefit vendors to escalate and resolve issues in benefits programs
  • Responsible for quarterly and annual FSA and HAS audits
  • Work with Benefits Broker, ERISA attorney, and vendors
  • Support the Benefits Manager in the annual benchmarking and renewal process of all benefit plans, evaluate and recommend the annual enrollment period
  • Support the COBRA and Retiree Medical plan administration
  • Conducts monthly 1095 audits and supports the 5500 annual filing processes
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human resources, Business Administration o,r related field required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of Benefits Administration experience including LMA, health and welfare, and retirement
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and
  • Can demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail in confidence
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ADP Vantage
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel from all levels in the organization and variety of external sources
