Behavioral Intervention Specialist - $1000 Sign-on bonus

Hicksville, NY

AHRC Nassau is seeking candidates for Full time and Part time Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) Positions. Residential and Day programs serving adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Positive behavior supports are provided to incorporate the needs of the whole person and help each person strive for their own success. All Residential and Day Program locations are in Nassau County. Schedule is Monday – Friday, flex hours.

In order to be considered for a BIS Position, candidates must have:

• Master’s degree in a clinical or treatment field of Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) or BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), AND
• Experience working directly with people with IDD, AND
• Experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior support plans and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans, AND
• Clean and Valid NYS Driver's License.

BIS Responsibilities include:

• Provide individual, collateral, and/or group interventions.
• Perform Functional Behavior Assessments
• Design and implement behavior programs.
• Provide staff training in basic behavior principles.
• Monitor individuals’ progress according to support plan.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences.
• Maintain clinical documentation and complete periodic reviews.
• Participate in regular supervisory contact.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Provide agency wide training at new hire orientation, as SCIP-R instructor (full time BIS)
