ANWSD is seeking four (4) Behavior Interventionists to work in our alternative program supporting students with autism and low incidence disabilities. Staff work to teach their students effective communication skills, social skills, functional academic skills, self-help/personal care skills, functional life skills, community participation skills and vocational skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborates with teachers to develop and implement behavior plansMonitors behavior plansAssists in supervising students in designated sites to optimize good behaviorEncourages and supports appropriate social skills, interactions with peers, and conversation with partners and small groups as they relate to behaviorCollects and maintains data on student performance necessary to the development of goals and objectives related to behaviorUnderstands and works within the confines of a multi-tiered system of support related to behaviorAssesses and reports program data to educational teams to support individual student progress in terms of appropriate behaviorApply and implement techniques per CPI guidelinesMake sound judgementsQuickly adapt to changing situationsPerform tasks within a structured time frameCommunicate effectivelyCompile and maintain recordsMaintain sensitivity to ethnic, religious, cultural, sexual, and learning differencesQualifications and Education: Successful candidates should have a two or four year college degree and must be a registered behavior technician or willing to option this certification through the School District. RBTs are required annually to pass the RBT Competency Assessment, complete a renewal, receive ongoing supervision, and comply with BCBAs ethics requirements relevant to RBTs.
