The Mixer Assistant / General Utility will have various duties within the mixing, and processing areas. He/She will primarily be responsible for supporting the Mixer and will assume Mixer responsibilities during Mixer breaks. He/She will have job responsibilities that include the use of the computer system to draw ingredients into the mixer through an automated scaling system. He/She will also dump pre-scaled ingredients into the mixing bowl and then monitor the blending and temperatures of each batch. He/She will clean the mixer and any related equipment between different varieties. The Mixer Assistant will share in the responsibilities of performing all allergen clean ups and quality checks in accordance with standard procedures, as directed by the Mixer. The Mixer will also be responsible for General Utility duties such as bag dumping into minor ingredient bins, removal of waste, and cleaning of equipment. He/She will neatly and accurately fill out all necessary paperwork and turn it into the proper place. Responsible for area housekeeping and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Functions:
1) Review pertinent information with the previous shift i.e. mechanical issues etc.
2) All Mixer specific responsibilities when relieving or back filling
3) Follow formulas according to the platform card and deviation sheet
4) Through a computerized work station, activate system to automatically draw major and minor ingredients into the mixer
5) Load pre-scaled hand add ingredients into the mixer
6) Operate mixer to meet mix times and temperatures in accordance with preset standards
7) Assist in pulling the dough from beater bars and scrapping out the mixer after each batch and between varieties
8) Fill bulk bins for automatic ingredient drops
9) Hand scale liquids at the Mixing Platform (i.e. raisin juice, honey, ascorbic acid tablets, water and liquid sponge).
10) Move ingredient containers, bags, and carts to designated areas
11) Gather dough buildup/doubles/jams from the trays at the moulders and add them either to the dough in the Vemag or at the RDF
12) Clean equipment
13) Remove trash and cardboard as necessary
14) Neatly and accurately fill out all necessary documentation (Ex. HACCP – CTS)
15) Maintain a safe neat and clean work area accordance with GMP and Good House Keeping Practices (GHP's)
16) Communicate with co-workers and supervisors
17) Follow all JSA guidelines
18) Must adhere to all GMP and Food Safety Policies and Practices

Work Conditions:
1) 8-12 Hour shift. Will receive 2 fifteen-minute breaks and one half hour break. Overtime is required.
2) Environment – Noise levels will be minimal to moderate and temperature will be controlled. Lighting is sufficient. There is a possibility of slippery footing and dust from dry ingredients.
