Position Overview:

A General Sales Manager (GSM) is responsible for leading the sales department, which includes sales performance results, employee development, training, and customer satisfaction in the sales department. In addition, the General Sales Manager (GSM) will assist with inventory management for both new and used car departments and will work with the general manager, sales team, and finance management team to meet monthly new, used, and F&I objectives.

This position is commission-based - The target income is $135,000 - $145,000 annually.

  • You can effectively recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performance team.
  • You seek to understand and then comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • You are an expert with the skills to train employees to utilize the company's automotive software effectively.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Establish and maintain a work climate that encourages continuous improvement, productivity, employee satisfaction, and dedication to a positive customer experience.
  • Hire, train, and provide professional development for their teams and set weekly, monthly, or quarterly goals based on their performance. Will also generate reports tracking how well each individual achieves these seasonal targets
  • Lead by example and ensure that the company's core values are encompassed in behavior at all times.
  • Manage the systems of checks and balances to assure compliance and financial integrity. Protect the proprietary nature of the business and maintain strict managerial confidentiality.
  • Lead by defining and achieving ambitious goals and presenting concepts to influence others.
  • Other duties to be determined by management.

Responsible for the Following Results:

  • Manufacturer Relations – Maintain Positive relationships with Representatives and achieve expected performance standards.
  • Asset Management – Maintain a competitively positioned, clean, safe, secure, and environmentally responsible facility within budgetary guidelines and assure full compliance with all internal, brand, manufacturer, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • People Management – A competent, motivated, and stable staff of automotive professionals
  • Financial Management – Consistently Achieve Performance Metrics and the protection of the financial assets of the business
  • Customer Relations – Superior reputation among customers and the community; a loyal and growing owner base.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive management experience
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems like Dealertrack, Reynolds and Reynolds, vAuto, Vin Solutions, etc.
  • Ability to lead outstanding customer service and high employee engagement programs and systems.
  • Proven record of creating a safe and positive work climate for employees to excel and promote.
  • Current, valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Authorized to work in the United States
