The Consolidated Operations and Anomaly Support Team (COAST) is a restricted Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program with several Integrated Project Teams (IPTs). The Software Engineering IPT focuses on the sustainment of several mission operational product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities as coordinated with the Customer.

The Software Engineering IPT is a large team comprising multiple subsystems, each with their specialized software focus. We are looking for an energetic and passionate software engineer to join our team as we work to provide innovative solutions to complex issues in support of our Customer’s national security mission.

The position offers domestic and international travel opportunities.

Basic Qualifications for the Associate Software Engineer:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access prior to start date
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Basic Object-Oriented programming skills
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming

Preferred Qualifications for the Associate Software Engineer:

  • Strong in math and algorithms
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or Python
  • Familiarity with network protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and stakeholders
  • Previous participation on an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Desire to find and resolve problems in existing software
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

  • Proficient with C/C++ programming

Salary Range: $70,200 USD - $105,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $85,000 USD - $127,400 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
