Lead Office of Admission activities and strategy in the recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment of underrepresented students. Collaborate with Colorado College staff, faculty, and current students on efforts to increase visibility among BIPOC, low-income, and first-generation college students. Partner with colleagues throughout campus to support the work of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism and serve as enrollment division liaison to CC's Anti-Racism Implementation Committee. Advise senior enrollment division leadership staff on trends related to the use of race in college admission and lead initiatives to meet compositional diversity goals in light of legal challenges to affirmative action.

Anticipated Salary Range: $58,392 to $78,829 per year

Responsibilities:
  • Direct Office of Admission outreach and recruitment efforts of underrepresented students; provide leadership in recruiting and enrolling underrepresented students; develop and implement a recruitment and admission plan that involves the active participation of all enrollment division staff.
  • Partner with key campus constituents including faculty, alumni, student organizations, The Butler Center, The Collaborative for Community Engagement, the Diversity and Equity Advisory Board, and other ad-hoc committees to facilitate student success; provide data and context around recruitment practices and the admission process; and lead collaborative relationships to enhance outreach and recruitment efforts.
  • Direct and lead CCs engagement with Questbridge and College Horizons, including developing a recruitment strategy, communication plans, application review plan and eyield strategy.
  • Serve as a member of the Admission Leadership Team.
  • Serve as chair of the Outreach and Access team, establishing team priorities and timelines for programs and projects.
  • Identify, coordinate, and cultivate relationships with a national network of community-based organizations and strategic partners in key markets.
  • Monitor national trends on the use of race in college admission and advance race-neutral strategies to meet compositional diversity goals.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Admission Communication Team to develop targeted communications as well an overall multichannel communication plan.
  • Oversee fall and spring funded campus visits, including the selection process for the fall "Experience Colorado College" program.
  • Represent Colorado College and serve in a leadership role with local college access and education equity initiatives such as the Educating Children of Color Conference and the African American Youth Leadership Conference
  • Work with enrollment division senior leadership to establish new initiatives in the city of Colorado Springs and throughout the state of Colorado to identify new recruitment channels and to minimize barriers to entry for students traditionally under-served in higher education.
  • Serve as primary liaison with senior leadership of the ridge Scholars Program for selection, recruitment, outreach and registration.
  • Manage budget related to outreach and access activities
  • Supervise Admission Counselors, Assistant/Senior Assistant Directors who have primary responsibilities for Access and Outreach initiatives.
  • Participate in the application/review selection process.
  • Serve as point of contact for students seeking enrollment at CC.
  • Cultivate key relationships and partnerships with external constituents; build strong relationships with high school students and their families; work with alumni, other CC departments, schools, colleges, and community programs.
  • Lead information sessions for prospective students and their families.
  • Travel 6-8 weeks per year for recruitment, relationship building and professional development.
  • Represent the college at local, regional and national conferences.
  • Support, mentor, and advocate for students from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups (students of color), students from low-income families, and first-generation students towards a healthy, productive and successful experience at CC.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree plus a minimum of four years of related experience to include supervisory experience; demonstrated strong ability to independently manage projects and programs and achieve successful outcomes; demonstrated record of success with recruitment and relationship building with underrepresented communities; Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, nation origin, religion, socio-economic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation and other aspects of human diversity; experience and understanding of the use of technology in relation to recruitment and outreach efforts, including familiarity with the role of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software; strong data background and experience in utilizing data in goal setting, recruitment planning, and decision making; strong organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent reading comprehension; ability to work independently; demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills; proven ability to meet project deadlines; ability to conduct in-depth statistical analysis of project and program results; ability to travel 6-8 weeks throughout the year and work evenings and weekends as needed. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado Colleges motor vehicle insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a related field; experience and familiarity within a selective four-year, private liberal arts college admission environment; five or more years of progressive higher education experience; strong network of high school counselors and Community Based Organization professionals; previous experience with Technolutions Slate; proficient in Spanish or another language.
