The Role:
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Capital Projects, based at our Norwood, MA site, this position will lead/support capital projects to execute the master site plan of the Norwood, Burlington and Cambridge sites. The Associate Director of Capital Projects will apply existing and new knowledge of Design and Construction Control Project Management to support multiple and high-pace capital projects across multiple functions. The primary goal of this position is the efficient start-up of the assigned project(s).

Here’s What You’ll Do:
Strategic as well as tactical leadership of design, construction, commissioning, qualification (if applicable) and readiness workstreams for each assigned project

Lead and performance manage Project Engineers

Direct dispute resolution and any legal issues, project close out

Ensures that projects are safe, of high quality, are completed on schedule and remain within budget

Working closely with procurement, direct the bid evaluation and contract award processes and coordinate the negotiation of contracts with design firms, general contractors, and oversight of construction management activities

Review all construction drawing documents and specifications, coordinating necessary reviews with business unit representatives and regulatory authorities

Coordinate with end users and Facilities Management to insure efficient and timely turnover of space for effective operations, including a maintenance and calibration package

Oversee relationship with the local municipality authorities for project permitting and other business related to site improvements

Provide input to short- and long-term capital planning

Use knowledge of operations to inform design decisions

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
At least 10 years of relevant experience working in the construction capital project or 8 years with MS. Must have executed projects in a GMP manufacturing environment.

A professional degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.

Excellent negotiation, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Demonstrates strategic enterprise thinking, finding innovative ways to deliver results, and build trust, reputation, and business

Must possess outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with enterprise-wide information systems

Ability to interact well with other groups and must be able to take ownership of and follow through on assignments. Must be able to drive results on multiple complex assignments simultaneously with minimal required direction from his/her supervisor.
