Associate Dean of Students (Men)

Employee Classification: Part-time, Hourly, Non-exempt
Function/Purpose:
This second-line administrative position exists in general, to assist the Vice President for Student
Development to achieve the mission of the Office for Student Development, which is to facilitate Christ-
honoring whole-life growth in the life of each student at CSU. In particular, the position exists to provide
administrative oversight and cultivate whole-life growth for all male students primarily through the
residence hall program. This is currently a half-time position.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration and oversight of the Residence Hall Program
- Coordinates the selection of Resident Directors (RDs) and Resident Assistants (RAs)
- Assists in the instruction/training of the RDs and RAs
- Pursue the discipleship and growth of students
- Assists in evaluating, developing, communication and implementation of student life policies
- Provides oversight to the disciplinary and discipleship ministry of the RDs and RAs
- Administration of housing for male students
- Coordinates care of the residence hall facilities
- Coordinates (with RDs) care for students with health needs
Provides counseling and discipleship for students
Partners with fellow deans to provide leadership for student disciplinary processes
- Make final selections for students who will serve on the Judicial Board
- Determine necessary steps to proceed when a disciplinary issue arises
- Determine follow up procedure with the help of the Judicial Board for any disciplinary issues,
including the creation of a contract, and provide accountability
Serves on various committees that are related to student life, representing the Office for Student
Development
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:

related field is preferred.
- Experience in Christian education is considered beneficial.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret bar graphs.
