Job Type: Salaried
Compensation Range: $140,000-$160,000 per year.

Our client is looking for an Associate Creative Director (ACD) to provide creative leadership, copy and design direction to creative teams for their website redesign. This is being driven by changed needs and expectations from users and the business. The new site will position this client as a leading credible voice on the future of energy through a modern, consumer-centric approach, and a shifting content mindset to mobile first.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative as requested to address marketing and business objectives.
  • Exhibit outstanding creative judgment and guide the creative production to the highest possible standards appropriate for all materials regardless of medium.
    • Work with creative teams and guide the concept execution and support the creative direction; roll up sleeves and dive into the work where necessary.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of clients' business challenges and develop conceptual solutions to address those challenges.
  • Assist on projects with external agencies and partners.
  • Collaborate with the team to push new thinking and challenge cliché or rerun ideas.
  • Ability to convincingly present creative concepts to all parties when appropriate.
    • Articulate the creative rationale that drives the concept's execution and tactics.
  • Motivate the team to deliver a consistently high level of quality as evaluated by clients.
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of the brand and brand guidelines to ensure consistent alignment.
  • Support their peers in the account services and operations teams in managing client relationships, providing full-service support to clients.
  • Develop a working knowledge of data used to track market trends and customer actions and use it to inform the creative work.

  • Work with clients to articulate creative needs concisely yet completely.
  • Appropriately balance client desires, business requirements and marketing strategies.
  • Find common ground with clients when debating creative or strategic opinions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in design, advertising, English, journalism or related field.
  • 7+ years professional experience required; five as an art director or copywriter.
  • 2+ years experience leading teams of creatives required.
  • Portfolio required, demonstrating a strong eye for design and a buttoned-up aesthetic, with the ability to direct content creators, art directors, designers, and copywriters.
  • External agency experience.
  • In-house agency experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated creative conceptualization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to synthesize differing viewpoints so the final product remains true to the objective.
  • Hands-on experience in at least one creative discipline: design, copywriting, video production.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge in industry-standard software and tools such as the Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, project management software, and online market research.
  • Experience in brand development as well as digital and emerging multichannel marketing.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and see how a problem and its solution will affect other projects, people or processes.
  • Understanding that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on time, on budget and on strategy.
  • Ability to influence and/or negotiate when selling in ideas.
