The Cloud Power BU is seeking a motivated Entry-level Analog IC Designer to provide support to our ACA (Automotive Communications and Aerospace) Group located at ADI’s Catania Design Center. This position will involve work on Power Management IC’s, including building block design, top level simulation and layout supervision, using Cadence; it will provide an excellent start to a career in power management integrated circuit design. The group is composed by 35 people, some with more than 30 years of experience in IC design, all with excellent communication skills and ability to work within a cross functional team.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Design high-performance power converter ICs including DC-DC converter/controller (buck, boost, LDO, charge pump)
- Design complex CMOS/BCD analog circuitry such as high-precision voltage references, low-noise high PSRR LDOs, high-precision oscillators, comparators, error amplifiers, sense amplifiers, drivers
- Model DC-DC switching regulators’ AC small-signal behavior
- Present design documentation for review by peers and supervisors
- Validate circuit performance in the lab
- Support test engineer, product engineer, application engineer during their debug/validation in lab
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field of study
- B1 level in understanding English language both written and spoken
- Available to travel if requested
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field of study
- Good understanding of Buck/Boost/LDOs architectures and topologies
- Good knowledge of building blocks like bandgaps, operational amplifiers, comparators
- Proficiency in Cadence
- Knowledge about IC layout, lab instruments
- Fluent in understanding English language both written and spoken
